Lake Tanganyika (MV Liemba)

MV Liemba (2013)

Designed and constructed in Germany, the MV Liemba – originally called the Graf von Götzen – was sent in pieces to East Africa in 1913. It was reconstructed in Lake Tanganyika, and was used as a warship during WW1. Today it is the world’s oldest passenger ferry, sailing on Lake Tanganyika between the ports of Kigoma (Tanzania) and Mpulungu (Zambia).
